No one was as excited to have a Sephora in Delhi as I. One of the main reasons for that is my need to try out different brands. And even though Sephora houses plenty of other brands, Benefit was the only one which I had not gotten my hands on anywhere else in India. I now have a few products from Benefit and I am going to review them one by one on the blog in the coming weeks. I am going to start with the Benefit POREfessional Face Primer which is the one I was most excited to try. I had actually gotten a sample of it. I got a good use out of it so here is the review for you!

It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything! The oil-free formula contains vitamin E, which is known to protect skin from free radicals.

Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional comes in a seafoam green squeeze tube with a black twist open lid. The packaging is very basic and cute. I love the color scheme and the cute print on the packaging. It is also a small size tube which is perfect for travel.
Benefit POREfessional Review:
Benefit POREfessional primer has a light weight mousse-like texture. Unlike other primers which are white, this one is slightly tinted and helps even out the skin tone wherever it is applied. It does not give any coverage though. I have pores on my upper cheeks and this primer does help make then appear slightly smaller.
It makes the foundation last longer and does matte-ify the skin. However, the matte effect does not last day. And you only need a little bit to cover the whole face.
This is a silicone-heavy primer so it may not be suitable for skintypes allergic to silicones. I do not have any direct problem with silicone but continuous use of this primer clogged the pores on my T-zone (I have dry skin with slightly oily T zone). My foundation does go on smoothly and lasts longer when I wear the Benefit the POREfessional but once I saw that it gave me clogged pores (tiny bumps specifically on and around my nose), I stopped liking it as much as I did initially.

Overall, Benefit the POREfessional primer is a silicone heavy mattifying primer that clogged my pores. It made my foundation apply smoothly and last all day. However, the clogged pores situation was a deal breaker for me. I am glad I got to try a sample before committing to it, after all it is not exactly pocket-friendly ($31 for 20 g). I have dry skin so I do not need primers as much but I still like having my foundation stay put all day (and go smoothly). I recommend this face primer to people with dry skin (who are not silicone-!
