Product Comparison: Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD301 (Fragrant Rose Garden) and Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD302 (Sip of Wine)
Etude House launched Princess Etoinette holiday collection in the winter of 2012 and then Season 2 of the same collection in the winter of 2013. The Princess Etoinette 2012 collection was more extensive and all the products were packaged in Pink bottles with Rose Gold accents.
There were 8 limited edition Crystal Shine Lips lipticks, Crystal (loose) Powder, Heart Blusher, Rose brush, princess mirror, brush set, tear drop eye liner, hair brush, 3 perfumed candles, Versailles Nails (3 color nail set) and bubble bath bar. (Read more on Musings of a Muse) while the 2013 collection was smaller and came with All Over Crystal Powder, Princess Mirror, 2 perfumed hand creams, 2 perfumed candles, 3 Crystal Shine Lips lipsticks, a perfumed hair mist and a perfume (Read more on Shopping Escapades).
I got the Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD302 (from 2013 collection) and later picked up Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD301 (from 2012 collection). Both lipsticks are still available in the market so I thought of comparing these shades and the formulas in case you want to get one or the other!
Packaging: Both lipsticks come in the same color RED and similar packaging where PRD301 comes in Pink and Rose Gold packaging while PRD302 comes in White and Silver. The shape and style is same and I love them both!
Color: Despite being classified as reds, both the shades have no similarities. PRD301 Fragrant Rose Garden is a cool-toned red while PRD302 is a warm red with orange hues which also has shimmer particles in it!
Color Payoff: The color of both these lipsticks is less intense than it looks in the packaging. I think PRD302 Sip of Wine has a little more color payoff than PRD301.
Lasting Power: Same. Both of the lipsticks wear like regular lipsticks. I do not see any of them leaving a stain behind either.
Feel: Light-weight in both cases. Both of the glide on the lips easily and do not feather out. Neither of these lipsticks are drying to the lips but I think PRD302 is a tad bit more moisturizing.
Quantity and Price: Same – 3.4g for 13000 KRW.
Effect: Moisturizing to the lips. PRD301 is creamy, PRD302 is shimmery.
Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD301 (Fragrant Rose Garden)
Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips PRD302 (Sip of Wine)
Verdict: Despite the fact that the packaging, formula and lasting power is the same for both of the lipsticks, I like the PRD302 shade better because of a better color payoff and pigmentation (and the swatch being close to how it looks in the packaging)!
Both of these lipsticks are limited edition. I can still get the PRD301 (released in 2012) in stores so I am not sure till when these are going to be available but if are on a budget and want more long-lasting lispticks (which still come in cute packaging), go for Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk lipsticks. 8 new shades for spring released yesterday and there are already over 20 shades in the line!
Which color would your choose out these two shades? And which packaging do you like better?
