It was my birthday earlier this week and I used this a day before to revive my dry hands! I go for hand, foot masks and such skincare items for special occasions. Hand creams and lotions work well enough normally so I expect more from these masks.
I had high hopes from this hand mask because I like the Hand Bouquet hand creams (I have both) and I thought the mask would be more nourishing and the effect will be more long-lasting.
Sadly, despite an impressive line of ingredients – Shea butter, Trehalose, Aloe Leaf extract, Lotus flower extract, Japanese apricot extract, Olive fruit extract – this hand mask did little for my hands. I did feel that my hands got a little softer but I think I get the same (if not better) effect after using Argan oil under my hand cream.
The Step 1 has cotton gloves and they are massive. The face masks carry way more essence than the hand masks! The step 1 is still ok. When I opened the Step 2 side, I found clear plastic gloves which didn’t open. I am not sure what I was supposed to do them since the plastic didn’t separate and I couldn’t wear them (if anyone else knows how to use them let me know!) I massaged the acupoints drawn on the packaging and kept the gloves (cotton ones from Step 1) on for about 25 minutes.
And nothing special happened!
Two more things I prefer not to have in skincare products – mineral oil, fragrance – are present in these hand masks (relieved that there are no parabens).
I have used a few types of hand masks from different brands and I must say that I liked the one from The Face Shop a little better. I might try the other one – Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Collagen hand mask – but this one was a let down for me. The hand creams (from the Hand Bouquet line) work way better than these hand masks. And they of course last longer while the masks are good for one time use only!
