The Face Shop Vita C Hydro Gel Mask Sheet – Review, Buy in India!
The Face Shop is my favorite brand for mask sheets. I have tried many of their major mask-sheet ranges. I started out with their Real Nature Masks and then moved to the Essential Mask sheets, unbleached cotton mask sheets and now the Vitamin Hydro Gel Mask sheets. There are 3 masks in this range:
- The Face Shop Vita B Hydro Gel Mask
- The Face Shop Vita E Hydro gel Mask
- The Face Shop Vita C Hydro Gel Mask
I have already tested and reviewed the Vita B and Vita E hydro-gel mask sheets so here is the review of the Vita C mask sheet!

The Face Shop Vita C Hydro Gel Mask comes in a single sachet containing the mask sheet. The mask sheet is divided in two parts. And both are separately tucked in layers of plastic sheets on either side. I have tried hydrogel mask sheets from various korean brands and this seems to be the standard packaging. The Hydro gel mask sheet is made up of a fine white thread weaved tightly with the gel generously coated on it.
The packaging of the mask sheet contains all the details about the product including the ingredients, expiry date and instructions. Most part of the description is in Korean but some important information is also printed in English.
When I opened the sachet, the mask sheet was dripping with essence. I first applied the top part of the mask which covered my forehead, temples, nose and upper cheek area. I then unwrapped and applied the lower part which covered the cheeks, jawline and the chin. It had a refreshing citrus scent.
The hydro gel mask sheet once applied to the skin adheres to it well and stays put for upto 10 minutes. Once the essence is absorbed by the skin (about 20 minutes), the mask sheet become dry and starts coming off the skin. It also gives a little bit of firming effect. It also feels very cooling to the skin (until it dries).
I applied this last night and went back to sleep immediately. I woke up with moisturized skin. The glow along with the other effects of the mask last for 2 days on me.
One of the difference between the cotton mask sheets and hydro gel mask sheets is that the hydro gel mask sheets give off every bit of the essence away and dry up while the cotton (bleached/unbleached) mask sheets retain a bit of essence. I apply the remaining essence from the cotton mask sheets on my hands 😉

Overall, I think The Face Shop Vita C hydro gel mask are good value for money since they give a slight glow to the skin and also deeply nourish the skin albeit temporarily (the effect lasts 2 days). They are firming to the skin and add to the look of the skin especially special occasions. I would recommend the Hydro gel mask sheets for people with dull skin (any skin types – oily, normal, dry) since they give a bit of glow and are not heavy on the skin.
