Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation – Review, Swatches
My favorite high end brands are Estee Lauder, Chanel, Dior, Guerlain etc. I love trying out new products from luxury brands so one day I wandered into a store that housed Giorgio Armani makeup. And their Luminous Silk foundation and Lip Maestro caught my attention right away. I ended up buying a gorgeous red shade in Lip maestro but was advised by SA to buy the Smoothing Firming foundation. I have recently been getting a lot of use out of my Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation so I thought of sharing me review with all of you!

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation Review
Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation comes in a glass bottle with black twist open lid. There is a beautiful little logo of the brand on one part of the black lid. The bottle has a pump dispenser which is the best for liquid foundations. The bottle itself is oval in shape. Overall the packaging is gorgeous. Being a glass bottle, it is not very travel-friendly though!
The Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming Foundation comes in 10 shades. I was color matched by the SA for shade 5. Actually I have tried Giorgio Armani foundations before and I think the shades are tricky to find. They oxidize to as much as 1-2 shades darker after application. When I apply this foundation, I look like a ghost for about 5-10 minutes. It sets to a satin finish on me. Once it sets, it looks nice on the skin.
This foundation has light to medium coverage and comes with an SPF 20 with PA+++. I still like to use my sunscreen with this foundation (if I am going out in the sun). The formula is thin but not runny. I had actually asked for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation but the SA advised this one. She said that the Smoothing Firming foundation would work better for my dry skin. And even though I am yet to try the Luminous Silk Foundation, I think the Smoothing Firming foundation works well for my dry skin.
The foundation looks great upto 4 hours after application (once it sets) and then it starts fading away. It makes my T Zone a bit oily. I think that this can create problems for people with normal to oily skin. It does give me little bumps on my nose.
And for the Smoothing and Firming claim, honestly I am not that old to have the issues with smoothing and firming but I did not see any noticeable difference anyway. It does brighten up the complexion really well. I recently did a Glowing Pink Makeup Look for Spring using this foundation. Check it out:

Overall, Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Smoothing Firming foundation is a high-end foundation that comes in gorgeous packaging, 10 shades and gives a nice satin finish to the skin. It does brighten up the complexion but is medium coverage at best. It looks best 10 minutes after application because it oxidizes a lot initially. This is the reason, finding your own shade is really difficult. I am NC 35 and was color matched to #5. The #5 is makes me look ghostly at first but it looks amazing 10 minutes later. This foundation looks good for about 4 hours before it becomes oily and starts fading away. I would not recommend it to people for oily skin. In fact I think unless you are a high end makeup fanatic, give it a pass! I will use it since I have invested so much of my money into it!
