When I first set out for trying Korean beauty products I bought Nature Republic nail paints followed by face masks. I was playing safe. I follow beauty gurus from all over the world but none of them really talk about Korean cosmetics. I plan to be a pro on Korean makeup and beauty products (haha). So this is a post about my Nature Republic first big shopping haul.
This is my first major Korean beauty shopping haul and I am sure many more will come in the future. I did not have a liquid foundation so I bought a BB cream (on Sale) I mean if you are in Korea you have to try out a BB cream and I chose the Tweety! BB cream (#02). It looked too light in the tube but after blending and settling for a few minutes, it looked really good. This BB cream comes I think only in two shades and I bought 02. My friend who has a totally different skintone, bought the same and it looks so beautiful on her too.
I bought a couple of Botanical Shine tints (#1 -red, #5 – fuscia) because the colors looked interesting. I have only had The Body Shop Lip and Cheek stain which I am sure how I feel about so I decided to buy something similar and compare the results. The only difference between these is that the Body Shop lip and stain does not have glossy finish.
The eyeshadow is BL703 which I think is a really interesting color. It looks so deep blue-grey when worn on the eyelid and blends out as a beautiful smokey grey in the crease. I love it till now but have to see how it turns out a few hours later 🙂 Stay tuned for the review.
Korean makeup is all about shimmer, shine, glow and pearly finish. I see a lot of Korean girls wear silver shimmer eyeshadows a lot. Some wear a cat eye liner with the shimmer all over from eyelid upto the browbone. I suspect it is because of the monolid Asian eyes (I have hooded eyes) and this trick is supposed to help with opening the eye up. I love that makeup look and I think it is a Korean makeup trend. So I bought The Crystal Smoky shadow #1 which is basically a loose silver shimmer powder. It flies everywhere 🙁 but I plan to use it in the inner corner of my eye. I will report its efficiency soon.
Have you tried Nature Republic beauty products? What do you think about Korean beauty products?
