I had vowed to try at least one product from every single Korean brand this year. Somehow the frequent SALES in some of the affordable and more recognized brands like The Face Shop, Etude House, Nature Republic kept me busy while I procrastinated walking into a new brand store. Holika Holika is another popular Korean brand that I had on my mind but because of its limited accessibility in the shopping areas I frequent, I did not pay much attention to until yesterday.
Holika Holika has some really cute packaging of their products and I hope the quality is equally good as well since the price is a little above my most used Korean brands. Some of the innovative products may be the egg-shaped face cleansing bars, Placenta Face Mask, Snail cream etc. I tried to stay away from the hyped products and buy safe products – lip balm, face mask (not Placenta, yuck!) and eye liner.

Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm #04 Sweet Chocolate
* Gel eyeliner in 03 (Midnight Blue)
Freebie: Makgeolli Brightening Mask Sheet, 2 Miracle Real Skin Finish BB cream (SPF 25, PA++)
* The packaging has the details written in Korean and I cannot find the product name on the English website (http://www.holikaholikausa.com/). It is gel liner and does not come with a brush. I have it in shade 03. I do not know the actual name but it looks like a midnight blue color.
Before this trip, I had only tried two of their face mask sheets – the 36.5 fermentation mask sheets (now discontinued). Holika Holika has fewer stores around Seoul than most of the other Korean brands but they can be found in Times Square Mall, Myeongdong shopping area and Jongno (at least the stores I have seen in Seoul). They have a snail cream skincare set that seems to be popular but I just can’t get over the name (Snail!) itself and I do not want Placenta on my face!
I am yet to open and try anything I bought but the lip tint looks really rich, creamy and long-lasting while I am most excited about the blue gel liner. I have only used black throughout my life so let’s see how this goes. As usual you can expect a review after a couple of weeks.
