L’Oreal Paris Infallible De Rouge Lipstick – Review, Swatches, Price in India!
Hi everyone! So what happens when there are too many amazing new launches in one go? You forget even the product you fell for! Haha. I really liked the texture of the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Le Rouge lipstick from the Cannes 2016 collection (the shades are also available in the regular range, but I received it as a part of the Cannes collection). The shade was not really me but I gave it a go. I have really loved the formula but somehow I forgot to review it on the blog even though I did review the Silkissime Eyeliners and Mega Gloss on time. Anyway, here is the review of the Infallible lipstick – 814 Forever Frappe!

L’Orea Paris have had the Infallible range in the market for a long time. But sometime in late 2014 they repackaged and reformulated these lipsticks. They released 14 shades in India and even though I wanted to, I never actually tried the lipsticks. So when they added some shades from the Infallible range to the Cannes 2016 collection, I got to try them. The shade I received is 814 Forever Frappe.
It is a medium brown shade with orange-ish undertones. These lipsticks come in black lipstick tubes with color coded caps. Each shade has a different lid so they are easy to spot even in a huge pile of lipsticks.
Packaging is classy but the lipstick itself stays a bit above the bullet so you have to be careful while closing it else it may get disfigured. It is not a major cons but I thought I would still mention it since it cannot be handled roughly in a hurry. Mine arrived wonky so I am being extra careful with it.
I am not a huge fan of brown and this shade looked a bit more suitable for mature people. I still gave it a go. The texture is amazing, it glides on like butter on the lips. I felt like it was a bit slick at first but it set after a few minutes to a comfortable creamy finish. This lipstick is not 100% opaque and gives a better color payoff after 2 swipes. I went up to 3 swipes to get a good color payoff and opacity. So even though this is well pigmented, the color payoff is slightly sheerer than how it looks in the tube.
L’Oreal lipsticks usually smell a bit weird to me. I am biased (I dislike the chemical smell of L’Oreal lipsticks) so I am not going to discuss that at length here. These are also not my favorite when it comes to their scent.
These L’Oreal lipsticks are surprisingly long-lasting. I have never had such good luck with creamy lipsticks but this one lasts for 5-6 hours even between meals. They do transfer and start fading after 3 hours but with one touch up it lasted me all day. It starts fading from the center of the lips. I felt like having a clean slate (scrubbed and moisturized lips) worked best for this lipstick. It did not dry out my lips and was easy to remove with a makeup cleanser. Here’s a pic of me wearing 814 Forever Frappe lipstick.

Overall, I think the Infallible lipsticks from L’Oreal are creamy, give a decent color payoff and last a long time. The price is a little high considering that good quality lipsticks are available easily in India at half of the cost of this one. But for L’Oreal and creamy lipstick fans, the Infallible lipstick is a great option.
