Hi everyone! I am back with another review of a sheet mask. I counted my sheet masks from various Korean beauty brands – The Face Shop, Mamonde, Etude House, Nature Republic, Missha, Holika Holika – in my collection. I have 56 face mask sheets. 56! I had to create a separate drawer for my sheetmasks. Oh my God how did this even happen. In all of this craziness, at least I have started using masks regularly; 2-3 times a week. I was doing it once in 15 days earlier but now with the increased frequency, I feel like my skin is feeling more hydrated and soft. It is not drying as much as it was until 2 weeks ago when I started this new routine. So let’s review a Missha sheet mask!
Yesterday I tried the Missha Pearl Pure Source Sheet Mask which I featured in my Missha shopping haul.
Product Claim: Brightening & Vitalizing – Pure Cotton sheet mask enriched with Pearl ingredient, makes your dull and dark colored skin clear and vitalized.
Directions of use:
1. After washing your face, prepare the skin with toner.
2. Spread the sheet mask evenly over the face, adjusting eye and nose areas. Lower the eye parts for double covering effect.
3. Leave it for 15~20 minutes and remove the mask.
4. Gently pat until fully absorbed.
One of the unique things about this sheet mask was that it had extra cutouts for the under eye area. I have not seen it in any other sheet mask I have used from the other Korean brands. The cutout was so large that I closed my eyes and placed it on my whole eye area. Of course the essence from the mas is supposed to go in the eye so I had to be careful while removing it but the upside was that I did not need to apply eye cream afterwards. And it felt moisturizing.
But as a sheet mask, it as good as other ‘Pearl’ sheetmaks available in Korea. The Pearl extract is 4th in the ingredient list. While this does contain Methylparaben , Alcohol Denat. I sometimes wonder why sheet masks that are used for moisturizing the skin contain alcohol. Don’t alcohols evaporate and take away moisture?
Most of the Korean cosmetics I have tried have Parabens and alcohols. And as far as I have read, they are not good for the skin. I don’t really know but I love trying out new things and it seems like there is always something new in Korean drugstore brands!

I prefer The Face Shop sheet masks over Missha even though Missha is raved about more then The Face Shop in terms of skincare especially sheet masks. I am happy with how it this mask worked on my skin but I can get the same results with other masks as well.
