I shopped properly for the first time in Korea at the Nature Republic store and bought a BB cream, red and pink shine tints, a unique blue/gray eyeshadow and a crystal pearl powder. Read my Nature Republic first haul post here. So today I am doing a Nature Republic Botanical Shine Tint Review and Swatches post.
I do not use stains and tints a lot so I was attracted to these vibrant shades which the sales representative told us would leave a subtle tint on the lips and ca be used on the cheeks as well.
I chose the red and pink shade because they were the only shades available in the store. I checked online to see that the Botanical Shine tint actually comes in 5 shades. But after seeing the shades, I assume that I would have chosen these two only. So anyway. I bought them after a brief (absent-minded) swatch. After coming back home I swatched and applied these on my lips one by one and found out a few things.
Product: Nature Republic Botanical Shine Tint
Quantity: 9.5 g (.33 fl. oz.)
Price: ~ 2$ (2700 KRW)
It is basically a gloss-finish lip and cheek stain but it is very runny and water-y. The colors look so pigmented in the packaging but hardly translate in color on the lips (or cheeks). It looks (as you can see from the swatch) so ‘natural’ that I think I can get the same effect by using a tinted lip balm and a gloss on top.
After using it for a few days I realized that it has a low staying power. It sort of vanishes after a couple hours (max 3 hours). The stain is very light on the lips so when it fades, it sort of vanished completely. The runny consistency ensures that it will have to be applied carefully or it will end up looking uneven on the lips.
The price is so good compared to several stains/tints but I would still not repurchase this. I will use these up though. I do not use tints on my cheeks as I am quite careful with my face skin but I do wear all kinds of lip colors. If you are in Seoul and want to try out these things, you can check these out but I do not think ordering them online and paying shipping for these is so not worth it. Nature Republic has many other awesome products to check out from.
