Welcome to Shopping Escapades – Makeup and Beauty Blog India. And who am I?
I thought I would get you acquainted with what happens on this makeup blog!
It feels like another lifetime now, as both I and the blog have grown so much with time, but I started this beauty blog in January 2013. I had just moved to South Korea with my husband for his long-term assignment. I had easy access to Korean brands and got introduced to face mask sheets, serums, cutely packaged makeup in addition to other things in Korea.
I wanted to document it all so that is the reason I started the blog. Some of the brands I still love are Etude House, The Face Shop, Innisfree and Missha. Since I have moved back to India, I do not have direct access to the retail stores of these brands but I still get them from global websites like Amazon, Wishtrend etc.
I used to do a lot of shopping haul type blogposts too before moving to detailed makeup tutorials and beauty reviews.
Just a few months ago, I also started doing fashion posts. Read more about it in my Fashion Blogging & other Updates post. If you want to catch my personality, watch this little trailer of my Shopping Escapades YouTube Channel.
I am a private person, people tell me all the time (and it is true), so I am usually comfortable writing skincare reviews, beauty tips, doing makeup tutorials and other stuff without sharing much about myself. But sometimes I am in the mood to talk – talk about myself, life or anything under the roof. In one of those times, I did a 25 Facts About Me video! (It was 2014 and I was chubbier!)
Sometimes, I like to admit my mistakes like I did here with my Hair Care mistakes post. I think we can all learn from our mistakes but we can save a lot of time (and money) by learning from other’s mistakes (so learn from mine 😉 ).
On some occasions I turn into a guru and write stuff to teach (and probably be a guide) like this 4 Simple steps to Start a blog. Actually so many people want to know how to start a blog (and ask me online and offline) I thought why not give all those answers at once in a step-by-step manner.
I recently did 5 Books that Changed My Life post too. I feel that these books can change anyone’s life if one is willing to follow the advice given. I love reading so there is always something or the other that I find helpful. And I love to talk about those things on the blog. You can find such posts in my Random Chitchat category.
I have recently started filming makeup tutorials and a few of my favorites are:
Peacock inspired makeup look
Pink and Glamourous makeup Look
Classic Beauty Makeup Look
If you have read this far (wow BTW) I would love to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting my blog. You can connect with me on:
