Pooja Hegde/Mohenjo Daro Inspired Bollywood Makeup Look – Tutorial
Pooja Hegde makeup look from Mohenjo Daro movie!
Hi everyone, it’s been quite a few days since I did a makeup/fashion post on the blog. I was a bit preoccupied with some other projects! Anyway, I was planning to do another bollywood celebrity inspired makeup look this week. Since I work with natural light, the video did not turn out to be good because of monsoon so I am sharing my step by step tutorial here on the blog only. Actually Mohenjo Daro released yesterday so I decided to do a Pooja Hegde makeup look, the one she is wearing in the song “Tu Hai”. It is a pretty basic makeup! So here is the makeup tutorial for you!
Pooja Hegde | Mohenjo Daro | Tu Hai Song – Makeup tutorial
Here is the step by step makeup tutorial to recreate the “Tu Hai” Mohenjo Daro Makeup look:
Step 1: I mixed my peachy highlighter with foundation for a dewy skin look. Since this was going to be a simple eye look (not smoky eye so no fear of eyeshadow fall out) so I started with the base makeup. Clio Professional Kill Cover Foundation and Clio Professional Kill Cover Sheer Blender in Sheer Apricot work really well together for this!
Step 2: Next I applied my high coverage concealer to hide any imperfections on my face especially under eye area. Since we are going to go very bold with the kohl, the under eye area should look as smooth and even as possible. Therefore, I used my trusted Shiseido Spotscover Foundation.
Step 3: It is really humid in Delhi so I had to set my concealer and foundation with a powder. I just dusted it over my T-zone and under eye area leaving the rest of the face bare else the dewy effect would have vanished! Natio Mineral Crystal Foundation is something I have been trying out these days
Step 4: Pooja Hegde has a fabulous bone structure but I had to deploy makeup to give some dimension to my face. I used the lightest shade as highlighter and the darkest shade as my contour from the Kiss Beauty Professional Makeup Highlighter and Contour Palette.

Step 5: For the eyes, I wanted a nice base so I used my Guerlain Teracotta Bronzer as eyeshadow from my Guerlain palette. It helped bring some evenness to my discolored eye area!
Step 6: This is a bold kajal look so I used Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate Kajal and applied it thickly on my waterline and under it!
Step 7: I then curled my lashes using my Etude House Lash Curler and applied a few coats of FairyDrops the Platinum Waterproof Mascara which is the best mascara I have ever used! (Forgot to include it in the photo though)
Step 8: Bold brows also rule this makeup so I drew my eyebrows thicker and filled them well. Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper in Brown looks very natural on me. I always love how well the colour matched my eyebrow color!
Step 9: It seems like Chaani (Pooja Hegde’s character in Mohenjo Daro) is wearing a reddish brown lipstick so I created a similar shade using my MAC Ruby Woo Lip Pencil and L’Oreal Infallible Lipstick in Forever Frappe. For a matte-ish look, I dabbed off the excess with a tissue!
And that is all I did for this makeup look. I hope you liked this tutorial!

Just a candid shot! Wanted to use an interesting headgear so used my ASUS VR headset. I love this photo!
I received a lot of love for my Pooja Hegde makeup look on Instagram and Twitter when I shared my FOTD there yesterday. I am glad that this look turned out well and so many of you liked it.
