I am going to sound really shallow in this post so let me tell you in advance that I am not! This is just a fun post where I am going to list all the things I want to have, at least right now. Life has many aspects and external beauty is not at the center stage but a clear skin, beautiful makeup and stylish clothes can make a huge difference in how we feel about ourselves and consequently handle things in life.
Being a beauty blogger, I have the opportunity to try new products and help others find right products, sometimes my reviews might save someone some money. It is a dream job. But I am still on my way up and working hard to do as much as I can in what I have. So as I see more and more new products coming in the market, there are few I can try and many I have to skip. Those just go to my wishlist. On special occasions, I ask for those as gifts (from family). I got a lot of products crossed off my wishlist on my birthday but slowly my wishlist has grown again. So for the A to Z April Blogging Challenge Day 26 (Letter W), I present to you my cosmetics wishlist! To keep things simple, I have kept 5 products per category (let’s not be greedy, right?)
Shopping Escapades Wishlist
I am a huge perfume junkie and over the years have used a few good perfumes but I have sniffed others that I am yet to lay my hands on! Chanel Coco Mademoiselle has been my most expensive perfume until now.
- Chanel Chance eau fraiche
- Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne
- Marc Jacobs Daisy
- Clean Warm Cotton
- Nina by Nina Ricci
I have tried many expensive makeup products over the years as I used fewer products. Chanel remains my absolute favorite brand but there are others that I do not think I need (but want). Here are the 5 products (not necessarily high end) I want to have if I can!
- Urban Decay Naked palette or Lorac Pro Palette (yes I cheated and add 2 products in one point)
- Guerlain Meteorites
- Mally Beauty Evercolor Waterproof eyeliner set (of 10)
- MAC cream sheen lipsticks (all!)
- Sleek palette (all 😉 )
I have recently started being really careful about my skincare products. If you have read my skincare reviews, you know I was already quite selective about what I liked. I am now more inclined towards natural products. I am still researching products and reading ingredients to choose the right products for my skin but as of now, here are the brands I want to try!
- Laneige or IOPE
- SK II
I have used a couple of Korres products in 2010 and Kiehl’s products in 2011 so I know they will work for me. The best part is that they give consultation so there is a smaller scope of bad judgment. I know many affordable good products are available in the market so I will keep on using my Aveeno, The Body Shop, Etude House, Mamonde and The Face Shop products. Before I leave Korea, I will definitely pick up a face care kit from IOPE or Laneige!
It is funny that I am going to list things many beauty bloggers take for granted. But these are new to me so here it goes. Let me first specify that I rarely paint my toes and keep a day or more gap between painting my nails because I feel that nail polish contains chemicals bad for the body no matter how good the brand is. There are weeks when I cut my nails and let them breathe in their natural state. That is just how I am (BTW I do not wear makeup more than 4 days a week even if I am going out)
- OPI nail paints
- China Glaze nail paints
- Gel manicure kit
- Sally Hansen nail products
- Butter London nail paints
Etude House, Nature Republic, The Face Shop, Missha, Skinfood, Organic Farm (Daiso) – I think I have used most affordable nail products available in Korea. The Face Shop remains my favorite especially their “Gel Touch nails” nail paints and Etude House for manicure equipment (they have the cutest nail files, buffer etc.) But if I got a chance, I would like to try out nail polishes and other nail products from the brands mentioned above!
If there is one thing I need to really focus on, it’s my hair. I have been blessed with good skin and despite not being the best in the world, my skin is good enough and I do take good care of it. But one bad coloring incident left a scar in my memory and I have never really fiddled with my hair a lot. I can count the number of times I have straightened my hair, cut it, colored it and even blow dried it. I have never used a dry shampoo in my life and do oil it regularly (like a good Indian girl), yet it refuses to obey me. But if it starts responding to some things I am doing now, here are the things I would like to try!
- GHD hair straightener
- Salon style hair dryer (don’t even have a brand in mind)
- Hot rollers
- Hair mist (yes I do not use these either, if I really need my hair to smell good, I spary perfume in my hands and run my fingers through my hair)
- Tresemme Hair Spray
I have only used Gatsby or Schwazkopf hair spray until now that too like once a month or something! I am too scared to damage my hair (it is already not healthy).
Accessories (Jewelry, Bags, Shoes)
The amount of accessories I have collected over the past decade is insane! I have given away so much and yet there is a lot. My most used item is shoes, I do not have a pair older than 4 years. This might change in the future but I am happy with I have been able to get until now. There are a few things I would like to get from brands I really want to have in my collection
- Tiffany and Co. charm bracelet
- Nude pumps (any comfortable but classy pair from any good brand – Wouldn’t mind Louboutin though)
- Platinum and Diamond set (my dream)
- Tory Burch flats (because I love ballet flats)
- Louis Vuitton Speedy
- I really want to have a train case. Do not ask me why, I do not intend to be a makeup artists (yet) but I really love the idea of owning one.
- A makeup room? I always had a small drawer to keep my skincare, hair, accessories and makeup until I became a beauty blogger and my stuff just expanded like wildfire. Of course I will move my wardrobe in there too! Having a dedicated room is not necessary but as a full-time beauty blogger I may need it soon.
I know I can add many more things to this list, there are so many things to try and experiment with right now in the market but I must add that I am content with what I have. I am happy. Having the things mentioned above might not even make a huge difference to how I feel because at the end of the day, it is just material stuff 🙂
What is on your wishlist? Which is your favorite brand?
